About This Item

New York: Delta (Dell Publishing, Inc.), 1965. Soft cover. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Originally published in 1950, the Delta paperback edition was issued in 1965 and includes a new Preface by the Author. This copy is from the thirteenth printing thus. Vekikovshy's work, often considered pseudoscience, remained popular for many years and received favourable notice in such mainstream publications as Reader's Digest and Harper's. In brief, Velikovsky argues that catastrophic events in human history are related to close encounters between Earth and other bodies in the solar system. Our copy is very good or better with minor wear and no markings.

Synopsis

Velikovsky presents the revolutionary results of his 10-year-long interdisciplinary research into modern catastrophism based on eyewitness reports by ancestors, which shook the doctrine of uniformity of geology as well as Darwin's theory of evolution.

Reviews

On Jun 24 2019, a reader said:
My 10th grade teacher should have had me reading this instead of esoteric Shakespeare. Velikovsky's research is extensive and unrefutable, IMHO. A must read for anyone searching for the true history of this God forsaken planet. Question Everything.

About Pulp & Circumstance

Welcome to Pulp & Circumstance on Biblio. Once a brick and mortar bookseller, I am pleased that I can now offer scarce and/or collectible books and other items via this platform.

P&C strives to ensure that all items are clean and fairly described. Packages will be wrapped with care and dispatched as soon as feasible, usually on the next business day.

We do not use stock photos. All our photos are of the actual item offered for sale. We try to include the publishers' own descriptions of content by including photos of dust jacket flaps and back covers so far as they seem useful, and we also use photos to show material flaws where we can.

The "Pulp & Circumstance" watermark you might notice in some of our photos does not, of course, appear on any of the items themselves.

Please note that the colour in our photos often fails to come out right. The hue shifts a bit due to the limitations of our equipment, the lighting in our workshop, and of course my own lack of photographic expertise.

Shipping costs per book are always cheaper when more than one book is sent in the same package. Read more about shipping charges in "Terms of Sale" below.

Feel free to ask any questions you might have by email. We will usually respond within 24 hours. Happy browsing!
