About This Item

Published for the Wormsley Library by Maggs Bros. Ltd London in co-operatiuon with The Pierpont Morgan Library New York., 1999. Soft cover. xii, 278pp. No jacket (as issued). The catalogue lists and describes 106 items selected by Sir Paul Getty from his fabulous collection. Each one is presented with bibliographical details and photographs. The catalogue proceeds chronologically, mixing varieties of mss and printed books with bindings and other media. The heading generally specifies the main purpose of the individual entry - for example, if the binding on a manuscript or printed book is the point of entry, the known or surmised date of the binding determines the location in the catalogue regardless of the contents. A truly fascinating book whether it be for browsing or study. Book in very good condition. A little creasing to spine. Internally very clean and bright. A large and heavy book but no additional shipping costs for UK post codes. Please enquire for overseas shipping rates.
