Salem, MA: Marine Research Society, 1923. Book. Very Good. Quarter Cloth. First Edition. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Publication Number 3 of The Marine Research Society. A Narrative of Shipwreck & Adventure in the South Seas. Captivating account by William Endicott of his experiences during the 1829-31 voyage on the Glide. The ship struck a reef on March 21, 1831, and dragged its anchor for 8 miles until it finally wrecked on the Fijian Island Vanua Levu. Endicott was a Third Mate on the ship. With notes by Lawrence Waters Jenkins. Illustrated with b/w reproductions of photographs and drawings. List of Fijian words and names of crew members of the Glide at rear, as issued.
