Slightest bump to tail corner of the front cover. ; An author-signed, limited edition, letterpress edition of five poems by New York author David Mitchell: Symbols, Wrecks, For Whomever I Have Loved, Schmutz und Schund, and Last of the Huggermuggers. From Wrecks: "Spare the timbers of that ship/its ribs in mud/Lie with a piece of keel/half buried/When the tide is out." The recto of the page facing Wrecks has a tipped-in, woodcut illustration of Trumpetbush flowers and leaves, cut by Joan McCarty, printed from the block, and signed by her in pencil."This edition is one of 110 copies, 10 of which are signed." The author has signed in pencil on the colophon. The Bellevue Press was founded and operated by Gil and Deborah Williams as a small, fine press that published poetry, primarily, in limited edition books and broadsides. Gil Williams was a poet and author of several works. Unpaginated, 13 pages. Hand set in Caslon and Goudy types and printed on laid Arches paper by Steward McCarty II at The Geryon Press, another fine press publisher of poetry. Fore edge of the text block is untrimmed. Heavy, mustard yellow, moulded paper wraps with French flaps, string bound, with a paper title label to the front. The title page with the ownership signature "William Clarkin/Albany NY" in cursive on the title page. Clarkin was Chief Bibliographer of the University of Albany Library and the author of a biography of George Wythe, a signatory of the Declaration of Independence; a bibliography of Matthew Carey; and a retrospective of Dorothy P. Lathrop, author, and illustrator of over 38 children's books. This copy is in clean, Near Fine condition. ; Woodcuts; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; [13],[blank],[1] pages; Signed by Author & Illustrator .
