About This Item

Boston: Houghton Mifflin Company, 1932. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. Nicholas Eggenhofer. Edition is uncertain, it has characteristics of the 1931 first edition and also the 1955 reissue Special Edition. The lettering and decoration of the book's front cover and spine match those of the Special Edition. However, other copies we have seen of the Special Edition state 1955 Special Edition on the copyright page. This copy does not, stating only copyright 1931. The "belly" misspelling (p.54 l.18 has been corrected but the "senventy" misspelling (p.25 l.27) has not. The classic wraparound dustjacket illustration by Nicholas Eggenhofer picturing the OK Corral shootout shows five gunfighters on the front panel (at least one early variant reportedly shows only four). The book is in near fine condition, with no markings or other significant flaws. The priceclipped dustjacket is very good with light edgewear. Pictures provided upon request.
