H. Taylor, Crystallographic Laboratory, Cavendish Laboratory, Cambridge, foreword by authors, acknowledgements, for further reading, nine appendices and index. The text is illustrated with numerous black-and-white photographs, graphs and line drawings. Green coloured cloth covered boards with gilt coloured titles to the back strip. "In this account the treatment of the theory and practice of structure analysis leads the reader gradually from the simplest routine measurement of cell dimensions, through to the determination of space-group symmetry, to the fullest interpretation, by Fourier synthesis, of the accurate intensity data obtainable by modern experimental methods." -- from the preface page X. An ex library book:  has the faults of same. Library stamps (also cancellation stamps) to the free front endpaper and title page. Remains of the library pocket can be seen to the rear paste-down and book number has been placed to the top right hand corner of the same page, top left hand corner of the rear endpaper and top left hand corner of the front paste-down. Library sticker to the lower spine edge. Softening, rubbing and slight fraying of the back strip edges and bumping, rubbing and fraying of the book corners. Rubbing of the book panels and the titles of the back strip have almost become illegible. Age toning of the text block edges, though the internal pages are clean and bright.
