[Beijing].: 中華書局.[Zhonghua shu ju].. 1st Edition, 1st Printing.. 1975.. 225 juan (Chinese volumes) Chinese history books bound into 20 modern volumes, complete, appendices, minor shelf wear, neat annotations in ink on covers and upper edge some volumes, some writing of dates on spine with light fading, edges lightly foxed, generally good, paperback copies. Text in traditional Chinese. 20.1 x 14cm. Part of the Twenty-four Histories which are considered as the official history books for legitimate dynasties. This set was originally compiled by a team of scholars led by historian Ouyang Xiu (1007 - 1072) and Song Qi (998 -1061) in Song Dynasty. In comparison with the Old History of the Tang Dynasty, this set expended on the contents such as official selection and appointment, horse trade with Tibet and military affairs. .
