Beijing, Beijing chu ban she, 1984. [Iv, v], 368 pp.; 63 full colour photographic plates. Text in Chinese. Pictorial full colour endpapers (map of Beijing). Red cloth with black spine; gilt logo on front board, gilt title on the spine. in gilt and white printed dustjacket. = A treatise on the history of the development of Beijing, starting in 1949 and dealing with the society, economy, urbanisation, industry, etc. etc. Graphs illustrate the growth of wealth, for instance the increase in number of bicycles, television sets and even wrist watches. Plates include housing development, infrastructure, daily life, etc. The title translates as "Thriving Beijing: Beijing thirty-five years. the national economy and social development overview". Very light wear to the dust jacket, otherwise near mint. Rare. Esopecially in this excellent condition.
