Facsimile of the First Edition published in 1894 with an Introductory Note, dated 1985, by the Eleventh Duke of Beaufort, whose great great-grandfather, the 8th Duke of Beaufort, was instrumental in bringing about The Badminton Library series of books about many great sports such as these volumes on Yachting. Two volume set in fine condition. Blue boards with gold gilt lettering on spine and front board; coat of arms also in gilt on front board. Blue end papers. Interior text blocks clean & tight; no writing, no markings noted. Glossy papers have retained their whiteness. Contains numerous photographs, illustrations, diagrams, maps. Volume I (0907069223) contains 479 numbered pages; Volume II (0907069231) contains 501 numbered pages. Each volume 7 3/4"" tall x 5 3/4"" wide x approx 1 3/8"" thick. No dust jackets as issued.
