The 'initiative of six senior Ngarti and Kukatja women who are living at Yaka Yaka and Balgo communities on the edge of the great Sandy Desert in Western Australia. The women want to share their life stories with a wider Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal audience by conveying their experiences, perceptions beliefs, values and connections to the land' (from the introduction). The six women are Tjama Freda Napanangka, Payi Payi Napangarti, Martingale Mudgedel Napangangka, Kuninyi Rita Nampitjin, Nanyuma Rosie Napurrula and Millie Skeen Nampitjin. Translations by Tjama Freda Napanangka and Patricia Lee Napangarti.
