Near mint, wraps, lurid cover, interracial romance--Bess knew the code of the South but her passions were not to be denied, Author is African-American marine serving in Korea at the time (photo on rear panel). Rare. Williams was one of the early Angry Black writers of the 1960s and has never received the recognition due such an accomplished writer.
