The covers have rubbing such that letters on spine have gone up in smoke, but front covers quite legible- this book notorious for being rubbed--, light shelfwear, book sits square, a heavy book though diminutive, hefts nicely in the hand like moist leavened bread. Clearly illustrated and straight-forward instructions. Perfection of foods but also "on the improvement of female beauty"- ingenious mode for fixing perfumes of plants, etc etc. General intent of the book is to present and preserve recipes of the forefathers both opulent and less so. Fast shipping...in cardboard for safety. ; 12mo 7" - 7½" tall; 227pp pages .
