About This Item
1930 quarterbound hardcover as pictured. A nice copy of Herbert Asbury's informal history of firefighting in New York City. Includes many illustrations as well as twentyfive pages of notes and index. Binding is firm. Black cloth spine with red and gold stamping is worn with slight fraying at top edge. Pictorial paper boards are rubbed with gently bumped corners. Front matter is foxed. Rough cut text is age tanned but appears otherwise clean and unmarked. A number of pages have small chips or tears at fore edge where uncut pages have been separated. No dust jacket.
