Sampson Low, Marston, Searle, & Rivington, 1881. Hardcover. Acceptable. 1881. Twentieth Edition. 419 pages. No dust jacket. Brown cloth with gilt decoration to front board and lettering to spine. Pages are rough cut. Pages are fairly bright and clear with light tanning and moderate foxing to free endpapers and text block edges. Ex-libris present on front paste-down, with a pencil inscription to free endpaper. Occasional grey thumb-marking present throughout. Very minor dog-eared corners. Grey rubbing and a few small nicks and creases along text block edge. Retail label on rear paste-down. Boards have moderate shelf-wear with mild bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Moderate tanning to spine and edges, with visible crushing to spine ends. Book has a subtle forward lean. Heavy water drops on front broad. Gilt lettering is bright and clear.
