About This Item

U.S.A.: Jackson Publishing, 2008. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Soft cover. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Minor edge and corner wear; lightly scuffed and scratched; some light shelf wear; overall a very crisp and clean used copy! Very hard-to-find title! Full-color pictorial wrapper with red lettering. 24 very clean unmarked and uncreased historical and informative pages nicely enhanced by full-color photographs and illustrations! Extremely scarce and out-of-print FIRST EDITION! "Many of the words in this book are in the Cherokee language. This is so you can begin to learn this beautiful language. The Cherokee pronounce and spell a bit differently than we do. 'TS' is pronounced 'cha', almost sounding like 'ja'. The letter 'v' is pronounced 'uh'. the letter 'g' almost sounds like a 'k'. Everything you need to know is at the bottom of each page. If a word is repeated on another page, its meaning and pronunciation won't be on that page, so you need to learn as you go. If you forget a word, look it back up on the previous pages. Like many languages, adjectives are behind the words they are describing. For instance, 'big river' is 'river big' and 'Smoky Mountains' is 'Mountains Smoky'.........
