[York, Pennsylvania: np, 1939]. Approx. 8½ x 11 inches folded, opening to 17 x 21¾ inches. Half tone illustrations from photographs; map. Very Good.

Large broadsheet for the 1939 York Inter-State Fair held in York, Pennsylvania near the Pennsylvania-Maryland border. The advertising piece opens and displays -in colors of red, white, and blue- more than 45 images touting the fair's numerous events:

"Greatest array of carnival attractions.  •  Products of richest farms and orchards in Eastern United States.  •  Newest farm machinery-industrial and commercial exhibits.  • Pedigreed poultry and livestock-champion steer herds.  •  Brilliant night lighting of entertainment and parking areas....  •  Harness and running races on fastest half-mile track...."

Other entertainments include "Frank Wirth's brand new all-girl revue, 'Here's to You'", The Spring Garden Band, and a midway carnival by James E. Strates Shows. As a special feature on "Thrill Day Saturday" only, "Flash Williams and His Dare-Devil Drivers" performed automobile stunt driving: "Racing, smashing, crashing automobiles...Aerial power dive...Death drag...Flaming house crash..."
