Philadelphia: Henry T. Coates & Co, 1898. FIRST EDITION. Hardcover. Good Plus. Bright green cloth-covered boards with handsome, ornate embossed graphic (black, gold and light green) to front board and spine, with gilt and black lettering. Light shelfwear to extremities with one bumped corner. Black endpapers. Bookplate of second owner to front free endpaper Previous owner's name and 1904 date to second free endpaper. One signature sprung and resultant spine lean. Scarce Alger title which in the right skilled hands, could be tightened and prettied up, but fine as nice, well-read collector's edition.
