A book from Putnam's The Boy with an Idea Series, and as the title suggests, intended for young mechanics, "and many others who wish to become versed in the practical use of tools." Green cloth w/gilt illustration/black decoration/rule to front cover, gilt lettering/designs to spine, 346 pages + 16 pages of listings for other Putnam's titles, illustrated. Bumped/worn/frayed corners/spine ends, edge soil, library markings to spine, library pocket/writing to front pastedown, date due card to front end paper, tanned pages, a bit of soil/wear to covers, general wear. All in all not a bad copy, considering that it was once a captive of librarians..
