Childhood in Cambridge and Boston of New England's glorious Indian summer, coming in the 90s, memories of the great of . many worlds and countries, growing up with the world on a silver platter, and helping others as well as herself. Marian was born in 1872, her father was a young clergyman jusst called to a parish in Lawrence, Massachusetts, the industrial city founded by her grandfather and great uncle. In 1985 she moved to Cambridge to teach at the Episcopal Theological School. Five years later she started to keep a diary and is still keeping it until its end in 1906. DJ tanned on edges, small mended tear at top of back corner, lavender endpapers. .
