Synopsis
The Zibaldone (originally published as Pensieri di varia filosofia e bella letteratura ) is a collection of Giacomo Leopardi's impressions, compositions, philosophical observations, philological analyses, literary criticism and various other notes. It was published posthumously, and Leopardi is often defined as the father of what would be considered "nihilism."
