Signed program from an event about human rights to American writer and editor Leo Lerman (best known for his work at Conde Nast publications and as a major advocate for gay rights from the 1940's until his death in 2011), inscribed: "To Leo Lerman - with gratitude - an effect of my humble efforts - Svetlana - Moscow - September 1989". Excellent condition.<br/> <br/> Russian-born daughter of Soviet leader Joseph Stalin who caused an international furor when she defected to, and later became a citizen of, the United States (1967). In 1984 she returned to the Soviet Union, had her Soviet citizenship returned, and became an international voice for human rights.<br/> <br/>
