Crucial social advice for Scottish working class with recipes, washing instructions, going out to service, religious duty, etc. Brewster was the daughter and biographer of Sir David Brewster, the Scottish physicist, astronomer, mathematician, writer, and inventor. Owner's signature on front endpaper, "Elizabeth Driver/With best wishes - July 1859." Interior clean, boards rubbed and corners bumped, spine chipped and frayed.
