A psychological and sociological study of African Americans living in St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands. The text discusses slavery, the "psychological environment" of children there, class structure, aggression, and "dependency relationships."
Includes a chapter on the American influence there after the United States' purchase of the islands in 1917 and a bibliography.
