Henry Leland Clarke, 1951. First Edition. Trade Paperback. 94 pages. Script for the first opera written by Clarke who was composer and professor of music. He taught at Bennington College, Westminster Choir College, Vassar College, UCLA, and the University of Washington. The opera concerns the debate over the morality of stealing a loaf of bread. 14.25 x 11.5 inches. First edition (first printing), presumed. A very good copy in thick paper purple covers with title and author name in gold on front cover, spiral bound.
