Stated "first edition" on copyright page. Bumped edge, no impact to text block. In publisher's first state dust jacket, near fine, with $10.95 on front flap and "1170" at bottom, closed tear along hinge of spine, otherwise bright and free from shelf wear. Signed on the front free endpaper: "For Louis Newman, May this recall a moment of history we all shared - Lady Bird Johnson." Additional signature by former President Lyndon Johnson below inscription.
