New York: Dodd, Mead, and Company, 1882. First American Edition. Hardcover. Very Good-. 8vo. Pp. xi, 302. Frontis illustration with tissue guard (slight half-inch tear). With 22 illustrations. Brown cloth with stylized lettering stamped in gilt on front cover and spine. Rear hinge tender. Head of spine worn, corners bumped. Although lacking a publication date, OCLC posits 1882. Includes an emphasis on Jewish culture in Tunis, including chapter on "The Jewish Women of Tunis" and "In the Ghetto," as well as a chapter devoted to observations of a Jewish wedding. A handsome copy that remains well bound.
