Worcester, Massachusetts: Achille J. St. Onge, 1962. Hardcover. Fine/Fine. Inscribed by Tasha Tudor to Charlotte Huck on the front flyleaf. Huck (1922-2005) was an internationally renowned children's literature expert whose classic textbook, Children's Literature in the Elementary School, is now in its tenth edition. A miniature book (2 5/8" x 3 5/8"), bound in full red leather with decorative gilt stamping. A fine copy in a fine dust jacket.

Synopsis

"A Visit from St. Nicholas ", also known as " The Night Before Christmas" and "'Twas the Night Before Christmas " from its first line, is a poem first published anonymously in 1823 . This famous poem helped to cement the image of Santa Claus from the description of his appearance, his transportation, and how he brings the gifts to children on Christmas eve.
