Boston: Houghton Mifflin, 1965. Second printing. Hardcover. Very good-. Octavo, 288pp., illustrated. About very good in the publisher's two-tone pale green cloth, with gentle bumps to the corners and some isolated foxing to the top edge. In a very good dust jacket with some rubbing and shallow tears and chips. SIGNED and INSCRIBED by Acheson on the front free endpaper to Douglas Fairbanks, Jr: "To Douglas Fairbanks with the affectionate regard and best wishes of his friend, Dean Acheson, February 1966." Fairbanks' bookplate is tipped onto the front paste-down.
