Green cloth covers with gold lettering on front cover and spine, and fully intact top-edge gilt (TEG). 451 pages. Arranged and edited by Mrs. Harry Coghill. Margaret Oliphant, 1828-1897, was a popular Victorian novelist who wrote many novels, contributed many shorter pieces and articles to Blackwood's magazine, and was compared--favorably--to her contemporaries George Eliot and Anthony Trollope. Included in this volume is an amazingly long bibliography of her works.. 1st American edition. Hard Cover.
