About This Item

New York: Kunstkabinett, 1997. Softcover. VG+. White, tri-fold card with 4 color and 3 bw illustrations; 2 reprinted articles; and a typed manuscript with bw illustrations - all in a clear and black plastic binder. Signed by Warshow. Entire catalogue presentation from the exhibition held at Kunstkabinett from January - April, 1997. The exhibition was the first US retrospective of Hugo Gnam's work and featured the Art Deco Dream House of the Swiss-born architect. Extensive essay material is included, along with supporting illustrations, of various of Gnam's works, especially the house and his Japanese Tamo Dressing Room. Also included are reprints of articles from Architectural Digest and The New York Times about the exhibition and from Antiques and The Arts Weekly about "The Greatest Art Deco House Never Built." A fascinating collection of material.
