Signed and inscribed by the author on the half-title page: 'To Sister Sharon, I praise and thank you with sparkling joy, my Lord, for the crosses of irritation, anxious concern about the future, and countless other sufferings. Father Adrian van Kaam S.J.' The recipient of the volume, Sister Sharon Rose, whose ownership signature is neatly on the endpaper, was a Contemplative Sister at the Maria Droste Contemplative Community in St. Louis and who was presumably gifted the volume by Susan Muto, a spiritual writer and executive director of the Epiphany Association, which van Kaam founded, and who has additionally signed the title page and written 'In love, peace, and joy!' FINE/AS NEW in Fine/As New dust jacket. Both the book itself and dust jacket are flawless. As pictured.
