Description:
Boston: Ticknor and Fields,, 1865. First edition. She dedicates this book to her husband, the zoologist and geologist Louis Agassiz, "whose principles of classification have been the main guide in its preparation" (dedication). Octavo. Original brown pebble-grain cloth, spine lettered in gilt and ruled in blind, decorative centrepiece blocked and framed in blind, grey endpapers. With numerous illustrations, many full-page, after drawings by Alexander Agassiz. Spine sunned and ends… Read More
