Previous owner's bookplate on chipped fly leaf, else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. A magnificent, handsome volume depicting England in a past time, towards the end of the 19th century. A large and heavy volume which may require an additional charge for overseas delivery.

Black, London, 1909 This fairly rare dark red cloth edition is in VG condition. Reissued large size 1909 is the description on the copyright page. Deep maroon decorated boards and darkened faded spine. Attractive flower decoration on the cover board. Bright gold lettering on the front, faded on the spine. Usual bumping to the corners, but no damage to the attachment points of text and board. Contains the lovely black and white photographic portrait of the artist. Plates are superb and very clean, and protected with captioned tissue guards. An absolute classic portrait of an idealised Britain. This is a heavy book, and it will need a stout box and lots of packing. Inevitably there must be a heavy postage and insurance charge according to destination, please ask. The book has no jacket, but it may never have been issued with one. This is still a firm book, not loose or damaged, and it has one neat former owner name on the front end paper.
