1871 hardcover with no dj and no printing listed in dark green cloth with tissue-protected frontispiece illustration of the author. "Biography complete to April 1871". A lot of fraying and chipping on spine and a little on the edges, separation starting on eps, pages rippled and lightly tanned with foxing, stains and dents/folds on some of them. For all that, still quite readable.
