Paper inserts pasted to rear pastedown and free endpaper. Pages and plates are lightly tanned and foxed throughout. Cracking to gutters of a few pages with exposed binding. Tape repairs to fold-out map. Cracking to hinges with exposed binding, causing boards to be slightly loose. Previous owner's inscription to front free endpaper and pastedown. Binding is slightly shaky. Boards have moderate edge wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Crushing to spine ends with small splits and fraying to cloth. Scuffed holes to spine. Notable foxing and sunning to spine and edges.

Pages and binding are presentable with no major defects. Minor issues present such as mild crinkling, mild tanning and inscriptions. Boards have mild edge wear with light rubbing and crushing. Some light marking and tanning. Gilt lettering is darkened. There is bumping to corners. Book has a slight forward lean.
