VGC. British Books. No date given but probably 1920's. Six volume set. Pocket edition. Burgundy hardbacks (illustration and gilt lettering on the front cover, gilt lettering and decoration to the spine, small nicks, dents, scratches and a couple of small marks on the covers and spines) in VGC, no Dj cover as issued. Illustrated with b/w plates. General introduction by G. K. Chesterton. Nice and clean pages with small ink marks and light shelf wear on the outer edges, small creases and ink marks on the edges of the pages, back cover for Little Dorrit has slightly split from the spine. The books are in VGC for its age with some shelf wear. A collectable pocket edition set.

Complete in twenty volumes. Publisher navy blue half morocco over patterned cloth, spines elaborately decorated in gold and with gilt lettering, marbled endpapers. Top edges gilt, title pages printed in red and black. With illustrations by Hablot Knight Browne ('Phiz'), George Cruikshank, and others. Volumes appear unread. The spines are not faded and the spine ends are intact. There are some minor scuffs to leather in some spots. Overall a very good+ set that presents quite nicely. ; Octavo.
