Dust jacket not price clipped or marked or torn or creased with slight rubbing to upper edge and to lower spine/rear edge. 195pp. An account of the first Battle of Ypres and the events leading up to it. Whilst it is sometimes reckoned that the outcome of this battle was stalemate, and notwithstanding a loss of ground, the author puts it forward as an Allied victory He argues that by the successful defence of Ypres by the British regular army, which was wiped out in the conflict, this ruined the Germans because after it, they had no prospect of outright victory..
