LONDON: HUTCHINSON AND CO, 1898. Hardcover. FAIR TO GOOD/No Jacket. Boards lightly rubbed, spine darkened, with a closed tear to the cloth on the spine from the heel to about a quarter the way up. Pages lightly foxed. Pencil inscription on front free endpaper reading "This is supposed to be written by the marine who shot Lord Nelson at Trafalgar! 1898" which has also been underlined in the preface. Otherwise clean throughout. Good to very good.

In very good condition. Rubbing to extremities, corners bumped with chip to top corner of front board and top of spine. Two small bumps to leading edges. Endpapers darkened with small glue repair to front. Embossed stamp to top of title page “With the Publishers Compliments,” neat inscription adjacent. A couple of very minor spots inside, else pages very clean and tight throughout. 342 + 2pp cat.
