London: Cassell and Company Limited, 1903. Second (revised) Edition. Burgundy Cloth. Good Plus/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" Large. N/a. Type: Z xx, 832, 16 (ads.)pp. 1903. Revised and enlarged second edition with 832 pages and 804 illustrations - many line drawings - some photographic reproductions. The texblock remains very clean and tight but a good plus only copy due to the front hinge being tender and extensive splitting to the rear hinge though the rear board is not tender. Original publisher's burgundy cloth - gilt embossed to the spine and to the front board. Some rubbing with several slight nicks to the cloth at the head and tail of the spine - not very noticable. Also a 2.5cm split to the joint. A former owner's ink name (J. Barrington Pearson) to the front endpaper and an ink name and place to the front paste down - (J.W.
