Each of the 169 perennials are fully described, each with a blank table for recording dates, flowers, foliage, uses, culture, propagation, etc opposite each plant and with detailed tables in color arranged according to plant height, giving blooming times, expected height, growing requirements. Illustrated with black and white photographs, large octavo, pp 425, clean internally, pictorial cloth, a little worn and bumped, lower joint splitting but still sound, a duplicate from the Royal Horticultural Society Lindley Library with their cancelled label on the front endpaper but no other markings. [First British edition. The Copac listing suggests 1916 for the American edition, but I suspect this British one is later - perhaps 1920-1926? An unusual work,with a "diary" page opposite each plant on which to make notes of its progress in the garden, and with two unusual coloured folding tables at the front emndpaper.]. First British edition. Cloth. Good.
