The book is in near fine condition; a name has been written on the flyleaf and there is foxing on both inside covers where the dust jacket didn't cover but is otherwise completely unmarked. The dust jacket is lightly creased and showing wear on the corners; the inside front corner where the price is shown has had the price cut out.

Blue cloth with yellow lettering on the spine. Cloth is a little worn; spine is slightly sunned. Very faint offset of tape at top and bottom of front endpaper. Rear endpaper has a lower corner crease and a closed tear (a little over 1") at the top. No names or other marking in the book, although a few interior pages may be slightly stained. The basis for the 1956 Raoul Walsh film of the same name starring Jane Russell as the title character and Richard Egan. Marilyn Monroe was slated to play Mamie, who was a blond in the book, but had to opt out. Jane Russell dyed her hair red for this role and was called "Flaming Mamie" in the film.
