More prominent to text block edges, pastedowns and free endpapers. Pen inscription to title page. Light cracking to front hinge but binding remains firm. Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear with mild sunning and scuffing overall. Spine has heavier sunning with soft crushing to ends. Lettering remains bright and clear. Book has a slight forward lean.

Condition is excellent, with merely one turned corner-tip, and a tiny dent to tail rim, while its dust jacket is edgeworn with numerous small tears. Number 7 in the Collected Works series; small volumes (7.5x4.5 inches) hardbound in moss-green cloth boards spine-titled with transverse gilt line decoration, very pretty. The ugly dust jacket may be intentionally so, and is to be thrown (that's just our guess).

This is a Very Good copy from the publisher's "Phoenix Library" series, which was designed to be "suitable for both pocket and shelf." An uncommon edition. Blue cloth binding with gilt titling and decorations on the spine. Clean text; 291 pages, with an eight-page advert for the series in the rear. Some light rubbing at the margins, with some spotting on front and rear covers. The dustwrapper, of an attractive design, shows some unfortunate wear and has two large chips. In an archival plastic protector.. Later Printing. Hard Cover. Very Good/Very Good (Minus). 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall.
