Edinburgh W. Lizars 1833-1844. Bound in uniformed contemporary half calf green leather binding with gilt lettering and ornaments, and raised bands on spines. Marbled boards, edges & endpapers. 8vo. Hardback, Size 6.5 x 4.25 inches. In good condition. Overall some only very minor rubbing to edges. Spines are lightly sunned, with a couple with slight discolouration lower ends. Volume I of Mammalia, Volume III & V of Entomology have faint discolouration to spine and board inner edges, from water splashes. Volume III of Entomology this mark has very slightly bleed through on top corners only of first and last pages. Inside volumes have some slight foxing, but generally clean & tight. With 40 Black & White Frontis Portraits, and 40 title vignettes (24 handcoloured), 1257 ex 1258 engraved plates (Ca 1236 hand coloured).
