Readers Union / Rupert Hart-Davis London 1964.. No inscription. 4 square corners. VG+ in VG dustwrapper (tanned to spine, light wear at head of spine, no chips, tears, or loss).. Gilt title on black cloth boards, 232pp illustrated 8vo. Author was born in 1895 and educated at King's College Cambridge. With a varied career he wrote several books including two studies of the Gurkhas. It was his experiences in Palestine during the first world war in a Gurkha regiment and later the British connection with Nepal when he was stationed in India that prompted his interests and travels.
