The title heroines, Jean and Louise Dana, are teenage sisters and amateur detectives who solve mysteries while at boarding school. The series was created in 1934 in an attempt to capitalize on the popularity of both the Nancy Drew Mystery Stories and the Hardy Boys series, but was less successful than either. Cover has light wear to corners and spine caps but clean, bright and in very good+ condition. Boards and spine are straight. Binding is tight. A glue stain on illustrated paste downs. And former owner's small bookplate affixed to front endsheet. Pages are clean and near pristine. Dust jacket has wear to the extremities and the underside is reinforced with old tape which shows a little bleed through on the flaps and is rippled but clean and bright. Publisher's price of 100100 on DJ flap. DJ protected by a brand new, clear, acid-free mylar cover.
