New York: Payson & Clarke, 1929. First, Limited edition. Hardcover. Good. 4to, 1/4 red leather w. tips, black cloth, untrimmed, spine chipped, uncut One of ONLY 30 Signed copies printed on Arnold handmade paper. Ridge was and American poet, who was born in Dublin, Ireland, but raised in New Zealand. This lyrical narrative arose from the intense emotion aroused in her by the execution of Sacco and Vanzetti. In 1941, in her obituary, the New York Times called Ridge one of the leading contemporary American poets. Poet Laureate, Robert Pinsky, and Terese Svoboda ( author of the new biography of Ridge) have argued for her re-discovery.
