Boston: Ticknor and Fields, 1865. 2 volume set. 24mo hardcovers in lovely half leather custom binding, backed and tipped with fine-grained blue-black leather with elaborate gilt tooling to spine and marbled paper boards, page edges, and endpapers. 315+322pp. Engraved frontis of Lowell in volume one. Very good. Moderately edgeworn, with corners bumped and scraped. Boards lightly scuffed and leather rubbed at joints and spine tips; spine tips just barely erose. Title and volume labels lacking on both volumes. Page edges toned. Lovely early bookplate to front pastedown of both volumes. Hinge paper finely cracked at both front and rear of volume one, and at front of volume two. Faint toning throughout, else insides bright and tightly bound; near fine.
