Contains a small card with the name "Dr Louis Hamman" affixed to the endpaper, with the date 1924 written on the edge of the card. Dr Hamman (1877-1946) was a prestigious physician at The Johns Hopkins University, head of the Phipps Tuberculosis Clinic. Hamman-Rich syndrome is named after Dr Hamman .
