First edition, very good dark green cloth hardcover shows gilt titles to cover and spine shows mild rubbing to cover edges with bit of bumping to corners, light soil at page egdes, gift inscription at front endpaper, bumping to bottom corner page edges and some other mild trace wear, in good dust jacket (price at flap) that shows mild rubbing and soil, exposure toning along spine, along with edgewear that includes closed tears, long closed tear along bottom portion of front foe edge and large open chips to rear panel and portions of spine ends. 464 pages with 130 full page illustrations, four in color. Still a pleasing copy of this work that "..includes some seventy-two species of orchids, all that are known to be native to the northeastern United States and Canada, west to Minnesota and south to Tennessee.
