A solid, very presentable copy of the 1928 1st edition, Vol. II focusing largely on Olmsted's seminal role in the design of Central Park. Clean and Near Fine in a crisp, VG to VG+ dustjacket, with a bit of light rubbing and light soiling to the panels, and very mild wear at the tips and the spine crown. From this account we get an unusually vivid picture of New England village life in the first half of the nineteenth century. Included in the volume is a short paper on American Landscape Gardening in 1857.
